Apparition of a Suicide Victim

During the late 1800s there was a paranormal investigative
society known as the Society for Psychical Research, or SPR. This society investigated
over 700 incidents which they compiled into a study. The following case was one
of their most interesting encounters.

According to the case notes, there was once a girl named
Ellen. Ellen was in love with a disreputable young man whom her family did not
approve of. In order to ensure that she would not marry this man, Ellen was
sent to Brighton, which is on the southern coast of England. One night, Ellens
mother and young brother were sitting outside in their garden. All of a sudden
the brother exclaimed “Look mother there is Ellen!” Sure enough Ellen was seen
dressed in black walking at the edge of the garden. The mother told the brother
to go and see what she was doing there, however due to a sprained foot the
brother was unable to run towards her. Instead they called in the house to have
the youngest sister come out and run to her. They wanted to bring Ellen back
before her father saw her and there was an unpleasant scene. The youngest
sister ran across the lawn yelling Ellens name. Ellen did not respond. She
simply continued walking down the pathway away from the house. When the young
girl finally caught up with her sister she asked where she was going. She went
to grab her sisters arm when her hand passed right through her. She ran back to
her mother and told her what she had seen. The next day the family learnt that
Ellen had thrown herself into the sea and drowned at the exact same hour she had
appeared to them in the garden.

The urban legend behind this picture is how a guy and his girlfriend took a picture of their cat because it kept hissing at the patio doors for no reason. He put the picture on his laptop and noticed the outline of a small girl. They have no children.

In honor of the Super Bowl, here are several stadiums which are home to more than just their respective living football teams.

In the Detroit Lions stadium it is believed that the ghost of Jimmy Hoffa can still be heard cheering on his favorite team. Jimmy Hoffa, the leader of the International Brotherhood of the Teamsters Union, was a major Detroit Lions fan up until his disappearance from a restaurant parking lot. Although no one can say what happened to him for sure, many believe that he was murdered. The former Giants stadium was also believed to be linked to the mysterious Hoffa disappearance. It was speculated that Hoffa’s body was buried underneath concrete under one of the end zones. However, there has never been any evidence to support this claim, and the stadium has since been demolished.

Memorial Stadium at Indiana University is haunted by a spirit known as “Mr. Plume.” “Mr Plume”, who’s real name was Michael Plume, was a student at the university in the 1960s. During this time, the Memorial Stadium was just being built. Only a few months away from its completion, the body of the 19 year old student was found hanging from the rafters of an incomplete section. Although he was in a construction site filled with dirt and dust, his shoes remained completely clean. Despite this odd detail, Plumes death was ruled a suicide. Now people who visit the stadium can sometimes still see the ghostly apparition of his body swinging from a rope in the spot that he died.

The Wisconsin Badger’s stadium is home to several ghostly specters. Long before it was turned into a sports field, it was the site of a training site for Union Soldiers during the Civil War. Nearby was also a prison camp for Confederate soldiers. Visitors to the area can sometimes still catch a glimpse of long gone soldiers wandering around.

My family has a history of being haunted. Of my own experiences, three houses I’ve lived in had strange things happen within. When I was a baby, my mom would hear the creaky garage door open and close on Wednesday evenings. There was never anyone.
In the house we lived in when I was a preteen to early teens, a blue lady was seen multiple times by several people. However, she seemed very benevolent, fortunately. I heard her singing one night. I haven’t heard a more beautiful voice than hers.

In my current home, a dark, shrouded, child sized figure has been seen. We’ve been poked, heard footsteps (including very loud, running, stomping ones that rushed up right behind me. It sounded like a child running), I’ve heard my name called numerous times and a small object once flew off the kitchen table at lunchtime, which was witnessed by my brother, sister and I. My cat will also occasionally sit between me and my bedroom door, staring out into the room beyond. No one is ever there when he does this.

The house I’m currently living in was once the site of a Civil War skirmish and it is close to where the murder of a train robber took place. My great, great grandfather committed suicide many years ago near here, too. His ghost has been seen by the neighbors, wandering about on their farm.
